Here's the first known picture of Nakoula Bassely Nakoula, the Coptic Christian filmmaker unmasked as the brains, so to speak, behind the Innocence of Muslims trailer that helped inspireongoing violent protests in the Middle East. He's with actress Anna Gurji, who played one of Muhammed's wives in the film, on the Innocence of Muslims set.
The 55-year-old Nakoula has, understandably, been keeping a low profile since the AP revealedhe was the real identity of "Sam Bacile," the producer and writer of Innocence of Muslims. After hiding out in his Cerritos, California home for days, Nakoula was finally hustled out of his home on Saturday by police with his face hidden by a scarf, hat and sunglasses. He was taken to be questioned by authorities who had concerns he may have violated his parole by posting the video. Nakoula was convicted of financial fraud in 2010 and barred from using the internet without approval. Nakoula hasn't been seen since his brief appearance on Saturday, and the rest of his family snuck out of their home at around 3:45am this morning, according to reports.
Update: The actress, Anna Gurji, has penned a lengthy letter to graphic novelist Neil Gaiman, explaining that she was horrified by the final product.
Atleast he was nice enough to dub mohamad into the movie. I doubt the actors would have had a problem with saying the things he dubbed in. I doubt they were smart enough to realize what was going on even if he had not dubbed. How many americans let alone bottom rung actors would know how pissed muslims would get at seeing a portrayal of mohamad.

When Nakoula Bassely Nakoula put "The Innocence of Muslims" on YouTube, there were (are) riots and lots of violence.
One is acclaimed author who has been showed with accolades, and the other is a stupid jerk who sucks at audio editing. You can't blame Nakoula for causing riots any more than you can blame Rushdie for causing riots. Or, if you want to yell at Nakoula, your standard of morals should apply equally to Rushdie.
What I'm trying to say is who Nakoula is or what he did is completely irrelevant, because he didn't try to burn down an embassy or kill anyone
Right now most of the Muslim world still believes this was done by Jews, in Egyptian media there has been no mention of this guys real name, they still refer to him as Sam Bacile and the that video was created by a Jewish cabal. This guy must live in terror that average Egyptians will find out what he did and turn on his fellow Copts... He must realize that his strategy completely backfired and will only serve to strengthen the very people he was attacking. His family will be hunted and his actions will have triggered a string of events that lead to the death of many, he has no allies even in Western Liberal countries and most people would not care if this guy was handed over to the Egyptians.
I really hope that no retribution will fall on his family or his fellow Copts, he really needs to stand up and make some type of statement about his motives and at least try to explain his reasons to the world. Maybe try to at least turn this to some kind of positive situation by using his platform to push his agenda in a non demonizing way.

You can't keep a good zombie franchise down. You can't even keep a mediocre zombie franchise down.
Resident Evil: Retribution, the fifth film in the Resident Evil series, earned top box-office honorsthis weekend with $21.1 million.
I went to see Retribution just last night, the highlights of the film were the trailer for the upcoming Silent Hill sequel that played beforehand and the last 10 seconds of the actual movie.
The remainder of the experience was full of awe at just how long you can draw out a fight sequence if every other action is shown in slow motion and how people that have been fighting zombies for 5 movies still haven't figured out the fights end a lot faster if you just shoot them in the head already.
But no one really wants to talk about the continued success of Resident Evil when they can talk about P.T. Anderson's The Master instead.
And to be fair, while The Master earned far less than Resident Evil: Retribution did, it broke its own record with a per-screen average of $145,949. Now imagine how much it would have earned if it opened at more than five theaters. (Yep, this weekend's gross was $729,745, which is only really impressive in context. Otherwise, you could note that it made less than this piece of crap.)
Seriously, though, let's not forget about Resident Evil: Retribution, even though some critics are calling it the series' worst installment. Isn't it nice to know mindless video game-adaptation zombie horror can still come out on top?
I hear a lot of people saying they went and saw this movie, but not by choice. Have these films made you that stupid that you don't understand what the word "choice" even means anymore? Do you think I didn't see any of the RE movies after the first one, not by choice too? No, I CHOSE not to waste another second of my life, or penny of my hard earned income to this filth. Are people this bored that they're willing to flush money down the drain during one of the worst recessions in US history? Haven't people heard of museums, most of which have times you can visit for free? Has no one heard of nature, which is free to enjoy?

The stars of "The Twilight Saga" turned out to be big winners of the night Sunday, taking home ultimate choice, the Teen Choice Awards' lifetime achievement honor. The hit movie series has won a whopping 41 Teen Choice trophies since the first film arrived in 2008.The Teen Choice Awards got under way with a star-studded red carpet followed by a slew of awards, which were handed out at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles.
The teen-fueled ceremony honors film, TV, music and sports stars in such categories as choice hottie, villain, liplock and hissy fit. A record 134 million votes were cast this year.It's been over a decade since No Doubt took the stage at the Teen Choice Awards, and on Sunday night (July 22), it looked like no time had passed since they last stormed the show in 2001 during their Rock Steady days. Gwen Stefani had her ska-loving swagger turned up to 10 as she performed the band's new single "Settle Down" live for the first time alongside her longtime musical comrades. The entire band wore black-and-white everything, so the focus of the super sparse performance was all about the foursome, with no bells and whistles to distract the room from the iconic rockers.

The nominations for the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced in Los Angeles this morning. Read on to see if your favorite shows made the cut:
The 1960s-themed AMC show "Mad Men," which has won the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series every year since it premiered in 2007, earned another nod in the category, racking up a total of 17 nominations in total. The FX mini-series "American Horror Story" earned 17 nods as well - the most given to a program in the genre in a single year since "Roots" garnered 37 in 1977.
The PBS series "Downton Abbey" is also nominated for the title and has a total of 16 nominations this year. Stars Hugh Bonneville and Michelle Dockery earned their first nods for their role as Robert, Earl of Grantham and Lady Mary Crawley.
Other first-time nominees include Zooey Deschanel of the FOX comedy series "New Girl," "Blossom" alum Mayim Balik who stars in "The Big Bang Theory," Damian Lewis of Showtime's "Homeland," Lena Dunham of HBO's "Girls," Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton of the History Channel mini-series "Hatfields & McCoys" and Benedict Cumberbatch of the PBS mini-series "Sherlock: A Scandal in Belgravia (Masterpiece).
Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen of the HBO movie "Hemingway & Gellhorn" and Julianne Moore, who played Sarah Palin in the HBO film "Game Change," also earned their first Emmy nods. "Hemingway & Gellhorn" received a whopping 15 nods.
"American Idol" did not earn an Emmy nomination this year for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, while it's competitor, the NBC singing contest "The Voice," earned its first nod.

According to the webloid, which wrongly claimed last week that Bieber was being “pressured” to dump the singer-actress, his close pal and frequent collaboratorAlfredo Flores “has been filming her for a movie on her life.”The brunette singer/actress was seen goofing around with Alfredo Flores — aka Justin's friend. at Ashley Tisdale's birthday party at Malibu Beach yesterday. While we're sure all of the hugging, picking up, tickling, and giggling is strictly platonic (ahem) between Selena and Alfredo, we can't help but wonder if JB would be a fan of all of this touchy-feely horseplay.

Details regarding the filmmaker's death are still unclear, but Sage's attorney George Braunstein told People his housekeeper first found him dead.
"We are in the initial stages of our investigation. We have no information to report at this time," Chief Coroner Craig Harvey said.
There are unconfirmed reports that he died of a drug overdose, although law enforcement sources have not ruled out a heart attack or stroke.
Sage was the eldest son of Stallone and the actor’s first wife, Sasha Czack.
As a boy, he starred alongside his famous dad in Rocky V as Rocky Balboa’s son Robert.
"Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son," publicist Michelle Bega said in a statement. "His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha."
Los Angeles police said they were dispatched to investigate a death at a home on Mulholland Terrace around 2:15 p.m. but could not confirm the person's identity or offer details.
Coroner's officials also said they were in the initial investigative stages.
"Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever," Bega said.
George Braunstein, an attorney who has represented Sage Stallone for 15 years, said a housekeeper found his body Friday afternoon. Friends and acquaintances had become concerned because they hadn't heard from Stallone in the past day, Braunstein said.
Braunstein also told website LATimes.com: "He wasn't depressed. He was thinking about getting married. He just had his whole life ahead of him."
Sage Stallone history — Sylvester Stallone‘s son — has died and sources tell us the cause was an overdose of pills.
The details surrounding the death are still unclear .. but we’re told he was found in his L.A. apartment by either a maid or his girlfriend. Paramedics were called to the home and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Sage was an actor, director, and producer. He appear in two of his dad’s films, Rocky V and Daylight. In 1996, he co-founded his own production company, Grindhouse Releasing.
He has one brother, Seargeoh Stallone. He also has three half-sister from his father’s third marriage to Jennifer Flavin: Sistine, Sophia, and Scarlet Stallone.

Jennifer Lopez said Friday that she's also departing the Fox series after two years as a judge.
Lopez shared the news on "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest's radio show.
"I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do, I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do. We had an amazing run" she told Seacrest
In an interview with the host of AI and radio show, 'On-Air with Ryan Seacrest', she told him, "I really was dreading this phone call with you." Lopez explained to Seacrest that she had been neglecting other areas of interest specifically for her co-judging gig on AI. Apparently, being a judge on the show is a daily grind. The singer said she was working everyday toward AI's success.
Seacrest, whether jokingly or not, offered to be J. Lo's assistant so she could have more time for other projects, but it was not an option. Lopez has made it official that she will not be returning for another season.
“Little by little I’m making up my mind,” Lopez, 42, told Today’s Natalie Morales during a Thursday chat discussing her role in Ice Age: Continental Drift. “I love everybody, I love the guys [Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and host Ryan Seacrest], but I am thinking it’s time for me to go and do other things I love to do like films.”
Currently on a summer concert tour with Enrique Iglesias, the mom of twins says she’s eager to return to the projects she put off when inking a one-year deal with Idol in 2010. “It’s a huge decision, but I have to say there are so many things I do that I put on hold for that,” Lopez reasoned. “It’s a heartbreaking decision if I have to go.”
She added, “I dread a conversation like this and you’re going to make me cry. The overall story is an engrossing adventure and Chris Hemsworth steals the show as the Huntsman. With three different movies out in two months, Hemsworth is rightfully in demand. Between “Cabin in the Woods,” “The Avengers” and this, Hemsworth showcases his talent. Ironically the brutish huntsman is the only character in the whole film to show any emotion.
The Evil Queen is whiny as usual, but she at least is scary doing it. Here we see she is really a soul-sucking beast beneath a beautiful exterior, not just some spoiled temptress.

Rihanna has reportedly spent £15,000 ($24,000) to salvage her hair after a spa disaster.
According to reports, the stunning singer has flown her US stylist to London first class because she didn’t trust local hairdressers with her precious mane.
The star had been enjoying a swim and sauna at her London hotel but the humidity allegedly ruined her locks.
"When she got out, her hair was tangled and matted. She slapped a load of conditioner on but it didn't get through the mass," a source told a British newspaper.
"She didn't want to take the chance on an unknown [stylist].”
According to the insider, Rihanna was desperate to get her own hair expert Ursula Stephen to sort out her tresses.
She was due to appear on UK TV series The Jonathan Ross show that night, so desperate measures had to be taken, and the beauty didn’t mind paying the price for it.
In the meantime, the 24-year-old songstress hid her locks under a baseball cap.

For the second year running the founder of The Weinstein Company steered one of its films to Academy Awards glory, this year with silent movie "The Artist," after last year's victory for "The King's Speech."
The Weinstein Company was also behind "The Iron Lady" - which won best actress Oscar for Streep as former British premier Margaret Thatcher - as well as "My Week with Marilyn" about screen idol Marilyn Monroe.
The company also distributed "Undefeated," a documentary about an underdog football team who look to reverse their fortunes with with a new coach, which won best documentary feature Sunday.
"Harvey Weinstein did incredible work. The way he thinks about a film, about the audience, about the way to show it in its best light, with the right timing, he's very strong," said "The Artist" director Michel Hazanavicius.

Pop diva Lady Gaga brought her star power, her mom and some of her famous friends, including Oprah Winfrey, to Harvard University on Wednesday to launch a new foundation aimed at empowering young people and stamping out bullying.
"If you have revolutionary potential, you must make the world a better place and use it," Gaga said as she officially kicked off the "Born this Way Foundation," named after her 2011 hit album and single, with a series of events at the top U.S. university. "This is about transformative change in culture."
The singer has often given a voice for people she feels lack representation in the media, and she formed the foundation to address issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying and mentoring.
Cynthia Germanotta, Gaga's mother, will serve as president. Lady Gaga's given name is Stefani Germanotta.
"I believe that human kind, as a whole, can change the world," said style-icon Gaga, who wore a long black, backless dress, black hat, gloves and platform shoes to Harvard for what she termed "one of the best days of my life."
"The goal is to challenge meanness and cruelty by inspiring young people to create a support system in their respective communities," she said.
POWERFUL VOICE FOR YOUTH
In 2011 Gaga, 25, topped the Forbes list of the most powerful people in the entertainment business - ironically, knocking talk show host Winfrey from the No. 1 spot she had held three times in the past seven years.
Winfrey said she joined forces with Gaga's foundation because it shared some of her core beliefs, including kindness, compassion and care for others.
Earlier, before speaking to a panel of experts, including Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and author Deepak Chopra, as well as Harvard students and others, Gaga dropped in on a youth summit where high schoolers talked about their experiences with bullying and efforts to prevent it.
The three pillars of her foundation are to promote "safety, skills and opportunities" for young people, said Gaga.
"Once you feel safe in your environment and you acquire the skills to be a loving, accepting, tolerant person, the opportunities are endless to be a functioning human in society."
Gaga's foundation is expected to include specific outreach to lesbian and gay youth. "Born This Way" has quickly become an unofficial anthem for gay empowerment and pride.
The singer/songwriter said that releasing the song further propelled a dialog that already existed between her and her fans - Gaga has almost 20 million followers on the social media site Twitter - and became a calling of sorts.
"After I put the song out, the conversation ignited even further ... I never wanted this conversation to end. I thought how I could keep it going," said Gaga. "And if anyone knows how to get a message out there, it's me."
Parked outside the auditorium was the new "Born Brave Bus" intended to be a kind of drop-in center or roving tailgate party for Gaga's fans.
"The more kids that I can get to come and eat hamburgers and talk outside my shows ... I feel that it will start small, but over time will be very big," Gaga said.

Lady Gaga said "it's not that hard" to change the world through, for example, "little acts of kindness" and standing up for others being bullied or going through hard times.
The entertainer said her foundation will promote safety in schools and communities, help people develop skills to be loving and tolerant, and then encourage them to find opportunities to express themselves.
