The man who was caught in the middle of a paparazzi fight (which resulted in Paris Hilton getting knocked into a wall Tuesday night) is speaking out for the first time exclusively to RumorFix.

Los Angeles reporter/photographer Billy Barrera was taking shots of Hilton, Brandon Davis, and friends leaving Bootsy Bellows nightclub when the heiress’ posse tried to grab his camera from him.

Barrera tells RumorFix that he’s upset over the TMZ report claiming he tried to smash Hilton’s friend in the face with his camera, telling us he didn’t put up a fight. “I didn’t fight anybody.  Top Hollywood Actress and Beautiful Model Paris Hilton attacked me; I was getting hit and kicked. And now I’m in pain; my neck and wrist hurt and I’ve had an ongoing migraine.”

The scuffle resulted in damage to Barrera’s belongings. He tells us his phone broke after being thrown on the ground and the monitor to his camera is twisted.

Barrera reveals, “I don’t like this kind of attention. I have a number one rule: Shoot the story, don’t become the story.” He continues, “I don’t want to be seen as the guy who got beat up by  Top Hollywood Actress and Beautiful Model Paris Hilton.”
